Vees Sweep Weekend!

The Penticton Vees put together their 1st winning streak in WHL team history, after sweeping 3 games this past weekend.

Friday at SOEC – Vees 3, Portland 2. Vees built up a 3-0 lead, but hung on for their 1st home ice win over the Winterhawks. Jacob Kvasnicka, Louie Wehmann and Matteo Danis tallied for Penticton.

Saturday at SOEC – Vees 10, Seattle 4. A wild 2nd period, in which the Vees outscored Seattle 8-2, ended with this massive rout on home ice! Brittan Alstead paced the way with the 1st ever Vees WHL hat-trick, and also added an assist for a 4 point night. Jacob Kvasnicka and Ryden Evers also had 4 point nights, with a goal and 3 assists each. Brady Birnie added a pair of goals, and Ethan Weber chipped in with a goal and 2 helpers. Louie Wehmann and Diego Johnson rounded out the 10 goal night for Penticton.

Sunday in Wenatchee – Vees 5, Wenatchee 1. A dominating 2nd period for the Vees w/ 3 goals, and 21 shots on goal was the difference in their win vs. the Wild. Diego Johnson scored twice to lead the charge, while Tristan Petersen, Jacob Kvasnicka and Morgan Tastad also scored. AJ Reyelts was outstanding in goal w/ a 34 save performance.

Vees now gear up for a pair of home games this weekend, including Saturday night hosting their Hwy 97 rivals from Kelowna at 6:05pm from the SOEC.
