Vees Split Weekend

The Penticton Vees 6 game point streak came to an end on Friday night at the SOEC, but, the team bounced back for a comeback win on Saturday.

FRIDAY – Everett 5, Penticton 2.

-The top team in the league were too much for the Vees, as the Silvertips had a 4-0 lead through 2 periods and coasted to the 5-2 win. Everett outshot Penticton 44-27 in this affair, as Jesse Sanche made 39 saves in a losing cause. Diego Johnson and Brittan Alstead tallied for Penticton in the defeat.

SATURDAY – Penticton 4, Vancouver 3 (Shootout)

-Saturday the Vees fell behind 2-0 through 2 periods, and rallied twice to comeback to force overtime, and eventually the shootout. Brittan Alstead tied the game w/ just 18 seconds remaining. The 5 minute overtime did not produce a winner, but, a 7 round shootout ended when Ryden Evers scored, and the Vees picked up 2 points in the win. Evers also added a goal in regulation, while Jacob Kvasnicka also scored and added 2 assists for a 3 point night.

More home cookin’ coming up this weekend as the Vees host Wenatchee Friday night at the SOEC.
