From September 22 to October 4, 2025, Penticton will host the Subaru Canada Adventure Racing World Championships (ARWC): The pinnacle event of the global Adventure Racing World Series.
This once-in-a-generation event will bring together over 60 elite teams of 4 athletes (240 competitors) from 25+ countries, racing across 750+ KM of Okanagan terrain. Athletes will trek, bike, paddle, and climb through mountains, lakes, and trails, navigating only by map and compass. The course is nonstop, meaning athletes choose when to rest and when to push on, creating a dramatic test of endurance, teamwork, and strategy.
Adventure Racing is one of the toughest team sports in the world, combining multiple outdoor disciplines into a single race. The World Championship is the sport’s biggest stage and final event of the year. Only the best teams who have qualified at events throughout the year leading up to the World Champs from around the globe earn the right to compete in the finals, which this year, is hosted in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada.
Spectators will have plenty of opportunities to experience the excitement, whether in person at the ARWC Village in Okanagan Lake Park, along the course throughout the region, or online through live GPS tracking and race coverage.
