Though originally from Vancouver, Deanna has deep roots in Penticton—spending every summer growing up lakeside, floating down the channel, and soaking up the local vibe with family and friends.
A lifelong music lover and self-proclaimed radio fanatic, her journey into broadcasting started early—at the age of five—recording “radio shows” on blank cassettes with a Fisher-Price boombox (yes, they still exist, and yes, they’re hilarious). Her love for radio stuck with her all the way to adulthood and multiplied through her studies at BCIT’s Radio Arts and Entertainment Program.
Raised in a musically inclined family and a singer-songwriter in their own right, Deanna has a deep appreciation for all genres—but the music on GO 971? That’s home. From belting out Britney with a hairbrush mic to memorizing the names of the Backstreet Boys before even learning cousins’ names… pop music and connection have always gone hand in hand for her.
